All of the women of 1st Lutheran Church belong
to the WELCA organization—the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. Each is invited and encouraged to be an active member. There are currently 5 circles within our church. Each circle has a meeting each month which includes a Bible Study. The circles are responsible for serving funerals, Sunday morning coffee, quilting, upkeep in the kitchen and making sure supplies are on hand as needed. Anyone interested in joining a circle can contact the church office @ 653-1333 Prayer Shawl
The Prayer Shawl group meets monthly on the third Thursday at the Senior Center at 1:00 PM Anyone is who interested in knitting or crocheting prayer shawls is invited to join this group. “Give and it will be given to you, For the measure you give will be the measure you give back.” Luke 6:38 |
WELCA Purpose
As a community of women, created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world. Quilting The women’s quilting group meets on the first Monday and Tuesday of each month at 8:30 am at the church. Monday hours are 8:30 to 3:00 Tuesday hours are 8:30 to noon.
